SCOPE OF WORK
Perched on the top floor of the company’s headquarters, this space is the Director's office. The floor had to be subtle yet complex enough to showcase characteristics of the technical prowess and impact this company had in its domain.
We were given an empty shell of 4000 sq.ft. The terrazzo selected had micro aggregates with mild combination of larger chips. The mild speckle of the terrazzo was to be complemented with broad 8mm brass strips that ran along the space. The finish selected was a satin-matte finish.


PROCESS
- Laying of the screed on the sub base at average thickness of 100mm
- Cutting joints into the floor at strategic points and filling them appropriately
- Creating designer isolations to ensure the structural stress is not transferred on the cementitious terrazzo floor
- Laying of the terrazzo floor
- Polishing with Italian planetary floor grinders to achieve a matte finish
- Application of protective sealer to provide long lasting floor protection


OUTCOME
A beautiful, subtle grey terrazzo floor that is accentuated by strong continuous brass lines. The floors created a balance of rustic concrete texture with the smooth shiny brass. The floor was laid at spans off over 250 sq.ft and do not have any visible cracks. It is also extremely durable and are very easy to maintain.
